Dongning Guo

Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Northwestern University


Dongning Guo joined the faculty of Northwestern University, Evanston,
IL, in 2004, where he is currently an Associate Professor in the
Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He received
the B.Eng. degree from the University of Science & Technology of
China, the M.Eng. degree from the National University of Singapore,
and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University, Princeton,
NJ.  He was a R&D Engineer in the Center for Wireless Communications,
Singapore, from 1998 to 1999. He has been an Associate Editor of IEEE
Transactions on Information Theory, an Editor of Foundations and
Trends in Communications and Information Theory, and a Guest Editor
for the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications. Dongning Guo
received the Huber and Suhner Best Student Paper Award in the
International Zurich Seminar on Broadband Communications in 2000 and
is a co-recipient of the IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award in Wireless
Communications in 2010. He is also a recipient of the National Science
Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award in 2007.

Ahmed Bencheikh

Vice President, Wireless Engineering and Technology Development

Ahmed is a Telecommunications Professional with over twenty years of experience in the industry. He is Vice President at Time Warner Cable responsible for wireless technology development and engineering. His responsibilities include technology evaluation, concept and requirements definition, business cases evaluation, architecture design, testing and validation, Quality Assurance, vendors’ products evaluation, selection and management, engineering development and support for product innovation and deployment.

Before, joining TWC, he held senior management positions in technology development, product development, network planning and operations, pre-sales and post-sales support and Business Development with major wireless operators and vendors including Ericsson, ALU, Nortel, Sprint Nextel and Clearwire.

Ahmed areas of expertise include:

  • WiFi , 3G & 4G wireless technologies;
  • IMS, VoIP and Core networking;
  • Transport and routing;
  • Services Delivery Platform, applications & services integration and interoperability;
  • Handsets and applications development.
